Issue 2/ SB5

http://ohiohousegop.blogspot.com/2011/10/column-from-rep-bill-hayes-keeping-good.html

It goes to say that most employers lay off or fire the last ones they hired. Just goes to say that just cause your in a union your job is not protected if the company you work for cant pay you because of budget cuts. Would you  want to lose Teachers that are selected as Teacher of the Year or would you rather have one who is sub par as a teacher.

So I ask, would you rather be employed or unemployed because of budget cuts, yet most of you continue to oppose SB5 that will stop collective bargaining  rights, ok so instead of a union rep talking for you, it will be a politician, yet you don't approve of it, or you think it will hurt more than help. I look at it this way, I rather speak for myself rather than pay someone to speak for me. I think that all should be payed based of your performance rather than what the contract says. Would you want a Teacher to get the same amount you get when they don't actually care about the students, or would you rather get a raise based on performance. I think that a teacher that just gets hired makes the same amount you get after being a teacher for several years, it don't add up.

So ask yourself this which would you rather have a Teacher of the Year or a Sub par one.
